«, (Per Press Association.) Auckland, This Day. At the inquest on the fireman named Brandin, who fell into the water from the steamer Mamari, a verdict of accidental death was returned. A verdict of death from habitual drunkenness was returned in the case of the woman Theresa Herd, who was fouud dead in a houso. Haweea, This Day. A girl named Messer, daughter ' of a settlor uear Ilawera, was drowned while bathing in a dam at Ngaire. The body has not yet been found.
