Feilding Fire Brigade.
A meeting of the above was held in the Foresters' Hall last evening, when all the officers and a dozen members of the Brigade were present. Correspondence and accounts were received from Mr E. Goodbehere, secretary of the late public committee, shewing that the debit balance on the engine — viz., £85 — had been paid off, leaving a credit balance in hand of 3s Bd, and the engine and plant free of debt. It was decided to defer the matter of purchasing a hose-reel till the next meeting. It was resolved, on the motion of Foreman Newman, that the practice night be altered for the ensuing quarter from Friday to Monday. It was resolved to pass a vote of thanks to those gentlemen who had taken so much interest in placing the Brigade on a more satisfactory financial footing. Messrs W. Towler, J. Chellis, and A. Wilson were elected members of tli^ Brigade, and two other names were proposed. The meeting then adjourned.
