» ASSISTANCE REFUSED TO THE BURNING VESSEL. (Per Press Association!. Rio de Janeibo. January 10. The local steamer refused to assist the victims on the burning harbour boat, fearing they might catch fire themselves. The passengers compelled the captain to proceed on his way under pain of being shot.
