INFLUENZA OUTBREAK. THE POSTAL CONFERENCE. (FEE PEESS ASSOCIATION.) Sydney, This Day. Bishop Wallis and Mrs Wallis are passengers by the Tarawera which left on Saturday for Wellington. There is some likelihood of Iredale going to England with Stoddart's team. He has been offered a good appointment by Buckwell, who is anxious to secure the brilliant Parramatta bat for the Surrey County. A virulent influenza epidemic is rag- j ing on Norfolk Island. One death has J occurred and others are in a critical condition. In connection with the estate of the late Robert Rand, worth about £250,000, a claimant in the shape of a son has put in an appearance. Mr Rand was always supposed to be a bachelor, but it is now alleged that he married 50 years ago. At present the estate is boing administered by the brothers of the deceased Melbourne, January 5. Senor Braggato, Government Viticulturist, will visit New Zealand next month at the invitation of the Government, to lecture on viticulture. The Postal Conference will not meet till the delegates return from the Federal Council about the 26th February.
