200 FISHERMAN DROWNED, FRENCH FORCES IN THE CONGO. NEW APPOINTMENTS. (PKB PBESS ASSOCIATION!. London, January 4, Two hundred fishermen belonging to Hull and Grimsby were lost in the late gale; Lord Monkswell, who was lately mentioned as a possible successor to Lord Hopetonn, Governor of Victoria, has been appointed to succeed Lord Sandhurst, Parliamentary Secretary to the War Office. - Lord Sandhurst succeeds Lord Harris ys Governor of Bombay. Paris, January 3. Furthev particulars respecting the attack on M/nVJoteil's military expedition in the Upper Congo state that the natives at Bitetna attacked the party and killed six of its members. The French on being reinforced, attacked the natives and de stroyed several of their villages- The loss on the native side was about one hundred killed.
