Some Fat Billets.
o (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION! Wellington, January 8. Fry, an ex-member of a British Infantry Regiment, arrived in Wellington by the Rirnutaka on Tuesday for the purpose of taking up the duties of Instructor to the Rifle Volunteers in New Zealand. A sub-marine mining expert is to come from England under engagement to the Government at an early date. Jas. McKerrow, late Chief Railway Commissioner, who has been appointed Land purchase inspector, assumed the duties of his new office yesterday. He leaves for Canterbury to-morrow for the purpose of looking at some land which has been placed under offer to Governmen^' _____________
