In Bankruptcy.
The adjourned meeting of creditors in tho estate of Samuel Chamberlain was held at Palmerston yesterday before tho D O.A. The following creditors were present : — Messrs Seeker, Groves, Linton, Chamberlain, Sandford (Ross and Sandford), Erenstrom (Erenstrom and Andrews), Moore and Grove. Mr Hankins, solicitor for the D.0.A., said that he had advised the D.O.A. that in regard to Mr Linton's bill-of • sale over the bankrupt's furniture it would not hold good as Mr Linton had really sold the furniture at 10s per week. He was of the opinion that Mr Parker-Smith and Mr Grove's bills of sale were legal. It was proposed* by Mr Seeker seconded by Mr Sandford that the creditors relinquish all right, title, aud interest to tho furniture and effects iv Willowbank House Bold by Mrs Linton to Mr Chamberlain and that the furniture be handed over to Mrs Linton as the estate had only acquired a right to it by a legal technicality, but subject to such rights as the bankrupt has created therein. The motion was carried unanimously.
