The Commander of Port Arthur, Admiral Ting, and nine Generals have been arrested for cowardice. Two Japanese armies are converging on Niuchang, after the capture of which it is believed they will winter at Tientsin. December 20. When the Japauesc entered Port Arthur they found the heads of their slain comrades with the noses and cars cut off hanging from a rude arch across the main street. This fearful sight infuriated the Japanese soldiers, who took revenge by killing every mau, woman and cliild they could discover iv the town, giving uo quarter whatever. Horrible details of the butchery have been published.
