Pohangina Notes.
Mr T. Hirst hna been appointed Postmaster for the Upper Pohangina, and Mr J. McKenzie has the contract for carrying the mails. Tho school and residence are to be re moved after Xruas. Tenders for the removal close next Monday. Where is our Councillor nnd his drainage scheme ? December is reirly ended and he has not vet submitted his estimates. The contractors will start work on the road leading from Holley's Hill to the township directly alter Xmas Onr Hall Committee are calling ten ders for the erection of the building. The latest time for sending thorn m is 12 o'clock next Saturday. Mr t'cKenxie is the local agent for Messrs Abraham and Williams The first sale here is fixed for the 12ih February Settlers take notice, In the meantime they are proceeding with the building of the yards. — Standard.
