Colonel Fox on the Warpath.

(Per Press Association.) Napier, Decomber 18. There was a largo attendouco of the public at tho Volunteer inspection by Colonel Fox in expectation of some severe strictures but were agreeably disappointed. Ho complimented the Rifles on tbo cleauliuess of their uniforms and accoutrements and appearance generally but said they were deficient in drill owing to the want of proper training. No good work could be expected from them under tho existing sya(;em of instruction. Of the Artillery he was'uioro complimentary, eulogising tho appearanco of both ' men ami guns and the careful iustruc- ' tion given by the oflicers of tho Battery.
