TTOUNG CONQUEROR is a beanti- ¥ ful black horse, with splendid bono, temper, and symmetrical proportions, and is, no doubt, one of the B«st Draught Stallions bred in the colony. Young Conqueror was bred in the Patea district, *nd his first season's foals — now turee years old - are splendid specimens of draught stock. He was foaled in 1885, by Old Conqueror, dam Olive. Olive, by Surprise out of Wellington tnare, whose dam was imported from Tasmania. Olive has taken four first prizes at Hawera A. & P. Shows, and has never been beaton in the show ring. Young Conqueror has taken first prize as a twoyear old at Hawera A. & P. Show, and bas not been in the show ring since. Young Conqueror has a splendid constitution, is a sure foal getter, and is thoroughly staunch in any kind of harness. He has been carting from Patea Meat Canning Works to Patea Railway Station for over two years, and daring that time has very frequently taken loads ■->f over two tons dead weight single* handed. Nil Desperandum's sire is the o«lc brated horso No Surrender (seeN.Z.S.B 197) ; Ro Surrender is out of that great brood mare Farmer's Lass (dam nt Springbank, champion at Oamaru when only two years old, also of King of the Ring and Farmer's Lad); JNo Surrender's sire, King of the Vanquishers — Miss McOormick; No Surrender never left a show-ground in New Zealand without n prize, and in one year swept everything from Dunedin to Christchurch.
