The Wairarapa Relief Fund.
(Per Press Association). Wellington, December 13 At a meeting of the sub-committee of the Wairarapa Belief Fund, the follow* ing resolution was carried : — " That after relieving urgent cases of necessity the funds remaining should be allocated to and invested for, and in the names >of the widows and orphans and aged rela* tives of those drowned, and that snice the Otago Committee have already made provision for some of these cases, they be asked to give the Wellington Com* nrittee particulars of cases for which they have made no provision." The following sums have been paid to survivors by the Wellington Committee of the relief fund :— John Austin, John Madden, Agnes Black, G. B. Tuxforth, Langley and J. Leversque, £10 each; D. Harris and J. B. Hams, £5 each. The following amounts have been paid, which, with amount received by same men in Auckland, brings the total to £10 each :— T. Henderson, £8 7s 8d ; T. Clarke, £8 5s 8d ; D. M. Bob* crts, £2 14s 2d ; W. Brown, £2 15s 10fl. The total amount paid by the Wellington Committee to date is £127 2s lid. The total funds in the hands of the com* mittee is £2087. '
