Tho Manchester Rifles paraded for inspection last night iv the Assembly Rooms. There was a good muster, only three men being absent on leave. Colonel Fox and Lieut-Col. At the conclusion of the parade Colonel Fox said he was much pleased with the progress the Corps was making in the direction of improvement. Their uniforms, arms and accoutrements were in really creditable order, and the appearance of the men was smart and soldierly, showing they took both a pride and an interest iv their duties as Volunteers. He congratulated them on tbe fact that the Corps would soon have a drill hall of their own by which means they would be able to make themselves perfect in their drill. Colonel Fox expressed his pleasure at seeing such a good attendance more especially as he was aware that many of them had to travel considerable distances. The company was then marched back and dismissed. The Firing.
