Grenoa, a burglar, who was charged with shooting at a watchman, has been found guilty and sentenced to death. The Government as a result of the recommendation of the Postal Conference has decided to continue ihe mail contracts till 1896. Hobart, This Day. A quantity of stones found at Coriuna are pronounced by experts to be true diamonds. Melbourne, This Day. A severe shock of earthquake lasting fifteen seconds, was experienced at Omeo. Considerable consternation was caused.
