Messrs Abraham and Williams report : —At Palmerston yesterday sheep mustered in moderate numbers. Sound sheep met with an unsatisfied demand. Aged ewes of an inferior description are difficult to quit. Cattle were steady throughout. Quotations: Sheep—Hoggets, in their wool, 10s; shorn, 6s 9d; others, 5s to 5s 6d ; fat ewes, 5s lOd to to 6s 6d ; prime, 7s Id ; forward ewes, ss; ewes with lambs, all counted, 2s 10_d to 3s 3d. Cattlo— Heifers iv forward condition, £4 2s 9d ; 2- year steers, £2 2s 6d to £3 9s ; 2.1-do., £8 12s 6d } 3year do., £4 6s ; yearling to 18-month steers, £2 14s ; weaner do., £2 ; cows witb 50 per cent calves, £4 to £4 2s 6d ; milch cows, £5. Alessrs Gortou and Sou roport:— Our sales at Sauson aud Waituna were made up of good entries, and wero both brisker thau usual. At Sanson we sold most of the cattle aud sheep— at Waituna all the sheep which werejof good quality, There seems to bo a little more demand for wethers thau other classes of shoop. We quote: Cattle, at Sanson, — Fat bullocks, £7 ; fat cows, £4 to £5 Oa ; fat heifers, £5 ; yearling steers, 30s to 40s; mixed and 18-month, £2 2s; 2|. year steers, £3 16s : heifers in calf, £3 10s ; weauors, 15s to 21s. Waituna— Fat bullocks, £6 ; fat cows, £4 17s 6d ; 2J-stocrs, £3 7s; 18-month steors, £2 18s ; yearling heifers, 36s 6d ; weaners, 335. .Sheep, at Sauson — 2-tooth wethers 7s Id to 7s 8d ; ewes with lambs, 5s 9d to9s6d; fat ewes, 6s to 6s 6d. Waituna, 2-tooth wethers, 6s 9d to 7s 8d ; 2-tooth mixed, 5s 6d to 7s 3d.
