• (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, This Day. A man named A. E. McGurr, a widower, from uear Asbburton, was burned to death in a fire which partially destroyed a two-roomed house in St. Asaph street. C. Taylor was also badly burned, aud was taken to tho hopital. These ; two men, with another, had been iv the house during tho night smoking and drinking,
