New Zealand Woods.
(Per Press Association). Wellington, December 1. Another report has been received by the Government from Mr Freyberg, London, relative to the use of New Zealand timber for wood paving purposes. Mr Freyburg strongly urges that every step be taken to send Home a quantity of timber suitable for pavements, and predicts a ready sale ior it at remunerative prices. The French Consul in New Zealand, Viscount Jouffray D'Abbans, is convinced that if the merits of New Zealand woods were brought before his Government considerable quantities would be used in Paris, and lie intends to move in the matter at an early date. This Day. In a circular issued by Government to timber traders they are given fourteen days for reply, and the date on which timber is to be delivered must be stated. It is desired to take immediate advantage of the demand for paving timber. It is anticipated that there may be some difficulty in obtaining space, but it is hoped this might be overcome.
