Washington, November 29. The American Bimetallic Conference at St. Louis has resolved not to vote for any candidate for public office unless he favours the free coinage of gold and silver in a ratio of 16 to 1. Romk, November 30. Tbe Pope has invited Cardinal Vaughan to visit Rome to discugs the possibility of a union between the Anglican and Roman Catholic churches. He proposes to call a conference of Cardinals to discuss tbe matter. London, November 80. Mr Cliarles Bergs, representing a leading American meat firm in Liverpool, is about to sail for Sydney and Brisbane, to purchase cattle direct for shipping Home. M. Hanotauz, Minister for Foreign affairs, has called at the German Embassy and oxpressed his regret for the attacks in the press on the Embassy regarding the encouragement of spies.
