Messrs Abraham and Williams report as follows: -We had a large entry of cattle jesttrday »t Palmerston comprised almost exclusively of fresh steers and grown store bullocks. The class was of a most serviceable character throughout. Bidding was brisk and prices firm at quo^ tations, the rates obtained being rather above recent figures, a total clearance was affected. Sheep were in moderate numbers. Suitable shorn hoggets below requirements advanced in price The ewes and lambs wera of inferior quality. Fat ewes and those forward in condition sold freely. At Shannon on Tuesday a small amount of stock was penned, which were readily disposed of at 9s for ewes and 6s for hog* gets (poor in wool). Palmerston cows with small percentage of calves made L 3 12s 6d : grown store bullocks, L4 l9a to L 6 2a; forward builocks, L 5 to L 5 5s ; 3 year steers, L 4 15s to L 4 17s ; 2 to 21 yenr steers, L 3 13 13s to L 3 19s ; others L 3 10a ; 2 year steers L 3 10s ; wenners, 33s 8d to 35s ; 18 mons cattle, mixed sexes, L 2 12s ; fat cows L 5. Sheep— Shorn hoggets, 63 to 6a 9d : fat ewes, 7s 9d ; forward ewes 6s ; shorn ewes and lambs all counted, 2* 6d
