Stock Market.
Messrs Lowes and lorns report of their fortnightly stock sale at Masterton : —The entries forward were considerably in excess of the advertised list, all classes of stock being represented and with the exception of one lot of fat wethers and a few dry cows aft lines changed hands. The following are the prices realised : — Sheep—Fat wetherß, 10s ; small fat ewap. 7» 6d ; fat Ininbs 7s ; dry ewes 7s ; shorn hoggets and young wethers, 6s 9d ; woolly hoggets, 8s 2d ; woolly ewes and wethe s, lls rid; shorn ewes and la rubs, 6s 3d. Cattle — Light beef steers, L 5 11s; cows, L 5 5s to L 5 10s : 2to 2j year Bteers 60s to 74s ; store heifers 60s ; yearlings 40s ; calves 16s to 20s ; dairy cows, best L 6 10s ; medium, L 4; aged, 30s to 403. Horses — Drnughts, best L2O ; inferior and hacks unsaleable. Messrs Gorton and Son report : Large entries of cattle and sheep made up our sale at Bulls on Tuesday, and small, though more than advertised, at Hunterville yesterday. Trade was brisk for beef at Bulls, at which there were some exceptionally fine pens of balf-bred polled Angus bullocks from the Bauniai estate, for other cattle it was very fair, for sheep dull, more business being done after the sale than under the hammer — yesterday business could only be done after the sale. Our quotations are : Bulls.— Cattle : Fat bullocks, £1 11s to £8 ; fat heifers, £5 6s ; fat cows, Mto £4 los ; yearlings, 31s to 38s 6d ; 18---month, mixed, £2 5s 6d to £2 14s 6d ; cows, £2 10s to £2 11s ; 18-month bulls, £2 4s to £2 10s. Huuterville— Weaners and yearlings, £2 4s. Sheep, at Bulls. — Wethers in wool, 13s ; hoggets, 9s 3d to 9s 6d ; ewes and lambs, 8s ; shorn sbeey, 4s Id ; shorn wether", bid up to 8s 9d passed iv 9s. Hunterville woolly wethers, 10s Hd ; mixed hoggets 9s. Horses, at Bully — Polo ponies, unbroken, 8 sold, £5 15s to £7.
