Beaconsfield Sabbath School.

* The second anniversary of the above named school was celebrated in the Cosmopolitan Church, on Sunday last, the 11th instant, -when the Rev. T. R. Richards, Wesleyan minister, of Birmingham, conducted three services. Suitable hymns were sung for the occasion. On the Wednesday following, the 14th inst. a picnio was held in Mr Bousemaun's paddock, which proved a source of great pleasure to the young folks, who enjoyed themselves during the day in the various games provided for them. Abundance of provisions were supplied and full justice do^c to the same by the children. There wero not many friends who patronised tho picnic. At half past seven in the evening a public meeting was held in the clmrch, presided over by Mr Jolly superintendaut of the school, when addresses were delivered by the Revs Clenient and Gridley, recitations by Miss Lilian Wallace, and Masters Hunt and Johu Cunningham scholars of the school. Anthems were sung during the evening by a choir selected by Mr Arthur Pearce who weilded the baton. Miss Jolly presided at the organ for the ' sunday services and also at this meeting, Votes, of thanks were passed to the friends who had so bountifully provided fortheoroature wants, the Rev. T. R. Riohards, for his servioes on the previous Sunday, the choir, tho speakers that evoning, Messrs Carthew and Milson, of Feilding, and Mr Humphrey of Waituua West, for contributions in prizes, etc. A very pleasant evening was brought to a close by the congregation singing the doxology.
