At the annual meeting of the National Insurance Company, the directors report recommending a dividend equal to 15 per cent, for the half year, was adopted and the retiring directors were re elected. The High School Governors have appointed Miss Katherine Browning as mathematical mistress at the Girls' High School. She has bean teaching at th« Napier school for the past six months. Auckland, November 15, A nine-roomed two storied house was burned down at midday at Pitarawhare, Goromandel. It was insured for £200 in the North German office and was valued at £350. A telegram has been sent by Remolds and Co. and the New Zealand Dairj Association to the Sydney Agricultural Department suggesting that a« the milk suppliers of the Auckland and Taranaki dia- j tricts were dissatisfied with the result of | the milk testing a portion of the grant to the dairy indnstry be devoted to subsidise the Government analysts to test all samples on behalf of milk-suppliers
