Apiti Lodge of Good Templars.

The members of the above Lodge held their first annual picnic last Friday the 9th instant on the bed of the Oroua river, and were favoured with an ideal day for such a gathering. A very enjoyable day was passed, part of the time being spent in races for tho children, tho remainder of the day being employed in all kinds of games. The refreshment tables, which were loaded with delicaciesof all descriptions, were supplied and presided over by Mosdames Watsou, J. Buckmau, Kankin, McKenzie. After the picnic an adjournment was made to Mr Guy's Hall, where a concert and coffee supper were held- ' The quarterly meeting of the above Lodge, for the election of ofliceru for the ensuing quarter was held last Saturday tho 10th instant. Tho following officers were duly elected :— Lodge Deputy, Bro A, Dick (for the ensuing 12 months) ; Past Chief Templar, Bro. C. S. Potts ; Chief Templeri Bro. W. Watson ; Vice Templar. Sis. D. McKenzie ; Secretary, Sis. J. Buckman; Financial Secretary, Bro. J. Shannon ; Treasurer, Bro. J. Buckraan ; Chaplain, ' Bro. F. S. Guy ; Marshal, Sis. B. Buckman ; Deputy Marshal, Sis. S. Rankin ; Officer of Guard, Bro. J. Dallay ; Outside Guard, Bro. J. Nix. It was resolved that the meetings be held every week instead of fortnightly, and that they take place on Saturday evenings instead of Friday.
