Pohangina Notes.
A meeting was held in the Pohangina township on Saturday, November 10, to consider the matter oferecing a public ball there. The acting-secretary reported that the Wsnganui Harbour Board had granted sec. 7, Block V, as a 6ite. Plan 6 and estimates were laid before the meeting and approved. Messrs T Sinclair, G. Adsett and J. G. 13rowne were elected trustees, and the same gentleman in conjunction with Messrs Ralph Browne, G. Baylis, G. CnJling, A Goldfinch, C Selby were appointed a committee of management. It having been decided to erect the building by subscription, the committee arranged to canvass for subscriptions. They will be pleased to receive any amounts however small A hearty vots of thanks was passed to Mr Pirani, M.H.R. for his assistance in obtaining the site and to the Harbour Board. Messrs J. C. Browne, G Adsett, and G C Culling were appointed to wait on the County Oouncil with a view to obtaining a grant towards telephonic comiimni* cation to Pohangina. Mr Selbv, C.C., has convened a meeting of his constituents for Thursday next at 7 p.m., to lay important proposals before them. -Standard.
