The London agent of tho CqloniaJ Bank of Now tfeajaud reports uuder date of September 21st as follows ; — The sth series of auctions of Colonial wool for this year opened here on the 18th inst. with a net available quantity of about 285,000 bales (iucludiug 78,000 old stock held over from last series), of the total 113,000 bales are of New Zealand growth. The sales opened with a large attendance of buyers from all quarters, iucludiug a fair sprinkling from the United States; competition was aniu]a|ied ai}d bjddjng spirited. Prices for cross-breds show nearly an all round advance of 5 por cent on July closing prices. Morinos rule from par to an occasional 5 per cent rise, more especially in sooureds, As at present arranged tho series will olose on the 13th October.
