OUTBREAK OF A VOLCANO. CANNIBALISM AMONGST THE NATIVES. (Per Press Association). Sydndy, This Day. News from New Hebrides reports that a volcano on Ambry m burst into eruption, and tho lava set fire to the native huts. Some natives were killed, but the fatalities are not heavy. Embers fell for a radius of ten miles. The natives on the Pentocost and Tanna are killing each other as fast as opportunity occurs. One village in Pentecost revolted against its chief, killed him and his household, and then attacked the neighbouring village, and slaughtered half the community, and ate a number of the victims. On Santo several natives who had got fat on plantations in Frji wore killed and eaten within a week of their return home.
