Stock Markets.
♦ Messrs Abraham and Williams held their monthly stock sale at Colyton yesterday afternoon. The entries of cattle were numerous. Bidding under the hammer was dull, but eventually the bulk changed bauds. Sheep occupied all the available space, proving that tho additions to the yards were not made a bit too soon. As with cattle the demand for sheep publicly was virtually staguaot. Vendors realising the attitude taken up by buyers soon relinquished their original figures and at lower rates a very fair clearance was effected. The auctioneers quote : — Cattle— Springing heifers, small, £2 12s 6d ; fat cows, £5 ; 2.year steers, iB 10s ; 15 to 18-months, i' 2 10s; 2£-ycar steers, £8 los; store bullocks, £4. 12s 6d ; wcaners aud milch stock turned out unsold. Sheep— Store wethers, 10s to 12s 3d ; best hoggets, 9s ; others, 7s yd to 8s Gd.
