(PER PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, October 20. The Council of the National Association (Auckland section), met and resolved to send copies of the following resolution to the Premier and the leader of the Opposition :— " That this Council views with disapprobation the proposal to add to the Legislative charges of the colony by the appointment of political Undersecretaries, and it also protests against the continuous increase of administrative expenses in the face of the diminished earning power of the mass of the peopte, as being unjust and opposed to the best interests of the country."
