MORE GOLD FINDS. (Per Press Association.) Mklboujine, Oct 17 Negotiations are almost completed for the amalgamation of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company and the Australasian Sugar Refining Company. The new company will be conducted by the Colonial. This Day. The amalgamation of the sugar con> panics is the most important mercantile transaction for some years. One effect will be to largely increase the Victorian element in the colonial sugars company's proprietary. Perth, October 17. Good alluvial gold has been struck near Broad Arrow. Four hundred ounces have been brought in, and a rush has begun to the place. This Day. For some time past rumours have been current that another rich find of gold was made at Coolgardie, but it was a secret. It is now learned that a discovery was made by a prospector named Downy and party at Liberia and the information was not disclosed. The specimens sent in are fully one third gold of a fraky character. Hobart, October 17. Arrived— Tainui, at 3 p.m. She sails for Wellington at 4 a.m. to-morrow.
