The wool catalogued to date amounts to 264,000 bales; of these the Home trade has absorbed 120,000. 129,000 have been exported, and j84,000 held over. October 15. Tallow is unchanged. The English wheat market is declining, and along witb the Continental market shows increased weakness. The American market is in a depressed state. The cargo of the Klio, from Port Pirie, sold at 22s 7£d. AustraUan factory butter, 99s to 100s ; dairy, 66s to 745. English wheat has fallen 6d per quarter, The New Zealand Loan and Mercan* tile Agenoy Company, Limited, report under date London, October 13, as follows : — Wool— The sales closed fairly well. Since close of last sales greasy merino super and fine greasy cross-bred are id per lb higher. Fine washed cross-bred, fine scoured cross-bred, and medium greasy cross-bred are par at $d per lb higher. Medium washed cross-bred, medium scoured cross - bred, coarse greasy cross-bred are par at a £d per lb higher. Scoured merino medium and inferior are £d at ld per lb lower. Greasy merino lambs super, greasy merino lambs medium aud inferior, and greasy cross-bred lambs are £d per lb lower. Other descriptions unchanged. The total quantity sold during the past sales is 225,000 bales, of which 95,000 bales havo been taken for the Continent and 18,000 bales for Amorica. It is estimated that 68,000 bales havo been held over for future disposal. Frozen Meat— Mutton market is depressed. Canterbury mutton is worth Bf d per lb ; Welhngton mutton is worth 2|d per lb ; Prime New Zealand lambs are worth per carcaso s{d per lb, j npniinal value.
