« [From Our Own Correspondent.] We are having a spell of fine weather now and I am sure it was much needed, as the roads were getting into a terrible state, but they are nice and dry now, and it only wants some of the holes filled up, for the main road has been cut up a lot. ' There is some talk of trying to get j two residents of tho Block to represent us on the Pohangina County Council. ' We have a very good representative at ' present, Mr Vicary, but wo aro going to i try and got another in for the Umutoi < Riding. ' A meeting will be held in the Public ' Hall on Saturday, 20th insfemt, for tho ' purpose of forming a committee to ] arrange for the holding of sports on or ■ about Now Year's Day. ! Tho Revd. Mr Richards gave a lecture 1 on " Woman, her relation to Church and 1 State" in the Church last Thursday eveuiug.
