The Selwyn County Council bas resolved to communicate with the Government in terms of letters received from the various Road Boards regarding the assessment proposals, to tre effect that Government, in addition to giving maps and section listx, should pay a fair share of tbe cort of preparing the valuation Auckland, Ootober 10. John Watson, the old man robbed and assaulted yesterday in the street is lying in a dangerous condition.
