AN OVERDUE WARSHIP. DISCOVERY OF A DEPOSIT OF IRON ORE. AUSTRALIAN GOLD MINES. QUEENSLAND TRADE. VICTORIAN BUTTER. (Per Press Association.) Sydney, October 10 The German warship Moewe, which replaces the Falk in Samoa, is considerably overdue from Zanzibar. A valuable and extensive deposit of j iron ore has been discovered in close proximity to a small coal mine in the Awaba (Newcastle) district. Melbourne, October 10 Owing to the rapid strides of the butter trade, the Minister of Agriculture has notified the mail companies that he will require two extra steamers in December, which will take 10,000 tons each in addition to 1500 tons by the usual steamer. Brisbane, October 10. The imports for the quarter have iucreased by .£191,000, compared with tbe same quarter last year, and the exports bave decreased by £815,000. Perth, This Day. Mr Earle, of Sydney, has issued a writ against Dunn, claiming a one-fifth share in his Coolgardie discoveries. Dunn holds a quarter share in the Wealth of Nations, and has an interest in many other mines.
