Pollard's Opera Company.

That the Feilding people are not loath to patronize a really good company when such visits the town was exemplified by the exceedingly large and appreciative audience which gathered at the Assembly Room last evening when that beautiful opera the " Gondoliers " or " The King of Barataiia," — Gilbert and Sullivan's masterpiece— was staged by Pollard's talented Juvenile Liliputian Company. The opera was most successfully given, and continued enthusiastic applauso was an indication of the delight with which the performance was received by tho audience. The smallness of tho stage deteriorated to a considerable degree from tho effects of tho grouping and dancing, and some of tho scenes, consequently, had a rather cramped appearance. A feature of tho opera was the capital music rendered by the orchestra, which is very strong, and composed of many noted musicians. The singing of several of the performers was much admired, especially that of Miss Mitchell, who as a vocalist and aotrosn has already made a name for hevseilj. The grouping, dances and incidental marches, combined with the rich and sparkling costumes and scenic effects made dazzling and picturosque pictures. The principals, on the whole, acted and sang in a surprisingly finished manner for juveniles, while the choruses were charming the whole of them being given with wonderful brightness and precision. The company appear in Palmorston to-night and as on former occasions there, they will uo doubt be largely patronised,
