Christchurch Stock Markets.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. reports on tho Addington markets as under : — At the Addington market the beef supply was very meagre, and sold well, though the Cufverden sale last week filled up most of the buyers' requirements. Beef, 26s per 1001 b. Store Cattle— A fair entry ; competition slack. Three-year-old forward steers brought up to £6 ; 2-year-old, 90s ; yearlingß, 40s to 50s ; dairy cows up to £9. Fat sheep— 4 800 were penned the majority being merino wethers. The demand for crossbreds was good, but irregular for merinos. Prime wethers, 16s 6d to 19s; prime crossbred ewes, 15s to 18s ; merino wethars, 10s to 17t ; fat lambs, 10s to 12s for prime ones. Store sheep — 1000 penned, mostly inferior sorts. Mixed aged crossdreds ewes and lambs, to 14s ; hoggets, 9s to 12s. Pigs— 3so yarded. Stores, fair enquiry, but baconers very dull indeed. Pork, 2Jd to 3d per lb.
