Correspondence.
A. LADY'S LETTER FROM ASHURST TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir,— Under the above heading a very personal and untruthful letter appeared in the New Zealand Mail last week, and the correspondent Bigned himself, (or herself) " F. W.W., Ashurst." A most irate gentleman living in Feilding (whose name was mentioned in this letter) sent a communication through the post office to "F.W.W.," Ashurst correspondent of the New Zealand Mail." The postmaster here, knowing but one F. W. W., sent the letter tome; I opened it and read that which I have written above in the first sentence — and also a little more, which it is not necessary to trouble you with. If there is another resident in Ashurst having the same initials as my own, he has a perfect right to use them ; but if he writes again on such petty matters, I would ask him to sign his name in full, because I do not wish people to think they emanate from the pen of F. W. Whiblby. Ashurst, 28th September, 1894.
