Wanganui Supreme Court.
(Before His Honor Chief Justice Sir James Prendergast). Wajjoanui, September 26. The Court resumed at 10 o'clock this morning, when the case of Cole man was mentioned by Mr Reade, of Feilding. The Grand Jury found no bill against Coleruan on the charge of using firearms with intent to do bodily harm, and be was accordingly discharged. Application was then made to the police for the return of the re* volver and cartridges impounded in the case, but it was declined. He (Mr Reade) applied for a direction of the Court to the police in the direction indicated. In reply to His Honor, Mr Fitzherbert said he saw no reason why these goods should be detained by the police. His Honor informed Mr Reade that he could give no direction, remarking that if he were in Mr Reade's place he would give no advice without a fee, but as he could not accept a fee he could give Mr Reade no advice. — Ohronicle.
