Seut ember 25At a meeting of the Hawke's Bay branch of the Educational Institute the following resolution was adopted, That this branch urge upon all teachers in the district to reply in the negative to the circular from the Department asking if they wish to be brought under the Civil Service lusuranco Act. Auckland, Sept. 26. The Board of Education have referred the question of charging rent on teachers' residences to the Board's lepral adviser. Mr Fish, in acknowledging the Hon B. Seddon's wire advising the with* drawal of tb6 Municipal Corporation Bill said " Your proposed alteration of the franchise is outrageous, aud such as will never. I trust, be assented to by the Leg. lslature."
