Burned to Death.

A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Blenheim, September 24. ' A young man Darned William Gill, employed on Hilleraden station, received injuries while burning scrub on Friday, which resulted in his death. Qill was hemmed in between two fires , , in a gully, and could not escape. He sought refuge in a small excavation in the ground caused by a pig rooting, and lay amidst suffocating smoke while the flames passed over one half of his body. After the danger was over Gill made his way to camp, and wag conveyed to the Blenheim Hospital. One side of the body was much injured, the arm was burnt almost to the bone, and the face was disfigured. He died yesterday morning.
