The Victorian Elections.
(Per Press Association). Melbourne, Sept. 21. The whole of the Civil Service voted dead against Government. The defeat of Mr Bicbardson, Minister > of Railways, was the subject of great > rejoicing among the officials in the Bail ' way department As the various depart* ments assembled cheers resounded 1 throughout the building. The tariff reform members are subdivided into 45 for reform and 14 for tariff revision. There are 65 Protectionists and 14 Freetraders returned. ' London, September 22. The Times, referring to the recent Vie- ' Victorian elections, says it is difficult to behevo that a reverse in protection pure ' and fiimple was contemplated in Victoria, especially in the light of past experience and success of the New Zealand tarifi.
