[from ovb. own cobbesfovdbnt.j A public meeting is to be held in Mr Pearce's shop on Saturday 29th instant at 3 p in., to discuss the advis ability of taking steps to obtain a Public Hall in the township. An informal meeting was held at Mr Culling's store on the 18th instant, when arrangements were made for obtaining estimates and full particulars to be submitted to the meeting on the 29th inst. All who are interested are re quested to attend. The State School is to be removed to the township m the Christmas holidays. Now this boon is promised it behoves all the residents and settlers there to send all their children regularly. The half-time school is still being carried on in the township and the attendance is fairly good. Notwith standing the inclement weather the teacher attends regularly on the appointed days, and we believe it would be only in case of illness that he would be absent from his post.
