Manawatu-Rangitiki Cricket Union.
1 The annual general meeting of the r Rangitikei-Mauawatu Cricket Union ■. was held in the Manchester Hotel - yesterday afternoon. The following 3 delegates were present : C Halcombe, 1 A. G. Carty, Foilding Club; G. B. Simpson, D. Entwistle, Colyton ; H. P. B Lance, Halcombe ; T. B. Crump, A. 9 Matheson, Palmerston ; £. H. Wilson, Marton ; H. S. Moss, Birmingham ; B L. E. Reade, Carnarvon. Mr A. H. i Tompkins (secretary) and the Rev. b A. S. Innes Jones (vice-president) were 9 also preseut. On the motion of Mr | Tompkins the Rev. Innes Jones was voted the chair. As there was a slight informality in calling the meeting, not sufficient notice having been given, a unanimous i vote was recorded that it should be considered a regular meeting. > The minutes of the previous meeting f were read and confirmed. s The Secretary stated that, owing to ' unavoidable circumstances he was un- ' able to make up a balance-sheet, but t they had a credit balance of a few shillings. The total subscriptions last 1 year had been £9 Bs. i The following officers were elected : i President, Mr F. Y. Leth bridge j vice- ' presidents, Rev. A. Innes Joues, Mr J. 1 Cotter (Plamerston), and Mr H. P. } Lance (Halcombe) ; treasurer, Mr j A. G. Carty ; secretary, Mr A. H. Tompkins ; auditors, Messrs A C. .' Matheson and H. L. Sherwill. t Resolved, That a suitable certificate 1 be presented, recognising its premiership, to the winning club for the i coming season. 1 Resolved, That rule 11 be suspended | to enable a motion to be made. | Resolved, That the word "championship " be inserted in place of the word " cup " in the rules. > Resolved, That the Palmerstou ■ Club be accorded a certificate of the fact of their having won the champion- ' ship last season. 1 Resolved, That Messrs Tompkins - and Crump be a committee to draw up certificate. Resolved, That Mr Strachan be [ asked to draw up the fixtures for the . ensuing season, and submit same to the i next meeting of the Union. Resolved, That the Union meet > alternately at the various hotels in ' Feilding. > The question of a selection committee ■ was left over. Resolved, That the committee meet > on October 12th, at 7.30. 1 Resolved, That votes of thanks be ' accorded to Mr Strachan for arranging > the fixtures last season, and to Mr 1 Tompkins for acting as secretary. !
