Mr Drury's bay mare Miss Dawn (full sister to Glenelg) has dropped a colt foal to Bay King. The youngster is one of the finest produced in Awahuri district for many a year. Mr J. Wilson, of the Denbigh Stables, has a three-year-old Puriri — Fidelity filly, owned by a Palmerston gentleman, in training for the coming racing season. Sho is in very poor condition at present and does not show much size, but under the care of sucb a careful trainer as she has, this daughter of the well known Puriri will, no doubt, be heard of on the turf before the season is over. R. Kingan, the well known trainer, who is at present located at Awahuri, has the four-year - old filly Sweet Sleep, by Ascot — May Dream, in training amongst his team. Roll Call looks very fit for his engagements at the Rangitikei Spring Meeting on the 26th instant. The stables adjoining the Awahuri Hotel are at present occupied by '• Bob " Kingan'a team, consisting of the following horses :—Musket, Oak lands, Spreydon, Tenby, Kaffir, and Sweet Sleep. They are all exercised on the Feilding course. Sunday School has not quite recovered from an attack of influenza which he has been suffering from since tbe commencement of last season and it is doubtful if he will raco again. Acceptances and general entries for the Rangitikei Spring Meeting will close to-morrow. The following circular has been issued to all clubs in the Wanganui Metropolitan district : —Sir,—l propose to hold a meeting of the representatives of the various country clubs in the Wanganui Metropolitan district at the White Hart Hotel, Marton, on Monday afternoon, the 24th inst, at 2 o'clock. I trust that the date will suit your club to send a delegate ro fully discuss the question of the number of race meetings to be held in our district next year. My previous circular was, of course, only a suggestion, and as I look upon myself as merely a delegate in this matter, and as my proposal was objected to by a number of clubs, I hope that a representative from each club will be present, so that if possible a satisfactory solution may be arrived at, in a position which is forced upon us by recent legislation. —l am, etc., J. G Wilson.
