Girls: Minnie McMurray, Lizzie Linton, Emily Mends, Ethel Beanejt. Thin school has been labouring under great disadvantages during the year. In the beginning of the year, immediately after the examination, the measles epidemic was raging in the district and the school was closed for a month. In June last the Oroun * bridge was washed away thereby cutting off between twenty and thirty pupils from the main school. These pupils hare since that time been taught in a shed by a pupil teacher, and were all brought over on the morning of the examination. The attendance of many of the pupils has also been very bad, no less tban. twenty two not putting in half-time, and many others making a little over half-time. This in itself is quite •nough to retard the working of any school, as it is most disheartening to a teacher, and these pupils act as a drag on the whole school and it is almost impossible to get good work done.
