THE DIVORCE BILL.

iFjit has not already met its fate, the Divorce Bill nmy already be considered as doomed. Although at its first reading it had a majority in the Legislative Council, yet there has bnen so much outside opposition to a measure which, in the opinion of all right-ti. inking people, is as unnecessary as it is uncalled for, that the majority against it has become so formidable in numbers that thn introducer of the Bill has lost heart and declared his fears that it will not become law this session at least. For ourselves we confidently expect that we have heard the last of it for some I years to come.
