The Fijian Murders.
TWO MEN EXECUTED AND OTHERS IMPRISONED(Per Press Association). Auckland, lugnst 24. Fijian news states that all the prisoners charged with being conceined in the revolt in Fiji have been been convicted of murder. Several natives had been murdered and their bodies offered in sacrifice to heathen gods. No evidence was called for the defence, the contention being want of identification and impossibility of the witnesses in their state of fright and flight recognising men with blackened faces m the dark, and at least 60ft away. Each Assesaor gave his opinion that the prisoners were guilty. The lad Caleon, apparently about 12 years of age, confessed that he speared Swiskinsa after he had been speared by another. Sentence of death was passed on each individual. On the 10th instant, Quaranwatan and Masurem were executed
