The Banks Reduce the Bates on Deposits.
LPKIt PBK9S ASSOCIATION,] Wellington, August 20. The Union and Australasia Banks to-day reduced the interest on 12 months' deposits to 4 per cent, and six months' to 2J per cent. It is understood that the Bank of New South Wales has also done so The Bank of New Zealand has reduced its rates by half per cent all round. For twelve months' deposits the rate is 4£,
