The following resolutions wero passed : — That the Engineer be instructed to lay off road through Messrs Hunt's properties and northward as far as thirds will go.— Arbon — Browne. That the Engineer be instructed to prepare estimates for the completion of the main road in No. 4 Ward^— Arbon— Browne. That J. S. Harrison be permanently appointed roadman half -time on Taorioir Finnis, Pollock, and* Zigzag roads. ~ Browne — Arbou, ' ' *- That owing to the tmsatiafactdiry' manner in which the 1 rates are coming : in and the urgent need of the Board of the money, the Board's solicitor be instructed to sue for outstanding rates.— Arbon —Browne. • '.<■/,. Haynes reported :—rContractors are pushing on with their work as - fast as the weather will permit. : I have had a shoot fixed at the end of the main drain, Pohangina township, to prevent . the heavy scour that was going on. , I- ' -- have also had a box culvert Ijxtf-on tbe road near Adsett's mill, the pipes haying washed out. The roadman has been instructed to erect the footbridges over creeks in the Harbor Board Block, anjjll by this I expect the posts are ready to receive the wires, &c. I am glad to inform you that the Government sobjsidy amounting to £250 has been paid into the Board's credit, also the first instalment of £'508 ior No. 3 Ward loan.— Standard. ; .
