The Stock Market.

At Messrs Gorton and Son's horse sale at Feilding on Saturday afternoon there was a very large attendance, but few buyers were present, and those were very cautious in bidding. Five draughts and two harness horses were submitted on behalf of Mr Hoult, of Christchurch. Two draught mares quitted at £19 5s and £16 15s, resspectively, and one hack mare at XI 3. Two of Messrs Hocken Bros, draught mares were sold at £21 and £23, the remainder being passed in. A. horse, saddle, and bridle was sold for £8 ss, and another back for £7. Messrs Abraham and Williams report on their Palnierston horse sale as follows : — A moderate number came forward. The bulk of the entries were from second sorts to inferior. There was a fair demand right through for all classes, the greater portion of the entry changing hands. Spring-cart horses, £10 to £13; second-rate hacks, £4 to £7 ; inferior, £2 to £3. Mr R. E. Beckett reports on his Marton sale as follows :—Notwithstanding the terribly bad weather on Friday my yards were fairly well filled, only three or four of the entries not coining forward. The attendance was good and the bidding spirited, nearly every pen being sold under the hammer. I quote— Milch cows, £4 to £5; 2£-year steers, £3 10s ; l£-year steers, £2 10s ; shorn hoggets, 6s to 8s lOd : woolly hoggets, 8s 8d : fat wethers, 9s ; cull ewes, 2s 6d to 3s 3d. '
