The Government have granted £150, asked for by the deputation for the purpose of expending on the road beyond Birmingham. Captain Turner being absent, it is suggested the expenditure should be made under the superintendj ence of Mr Bray. The Under -Secretary promised Mr J. Stevens, M.H.R., last night he would wire the authorisation, for the purpose af enabling the work to be proceeded with at once.
